Deux Chenes passion lies in carpentry. Certain projects require a mixture of traditional methods with modern techniques in order for the construction to fit with an older property. Many work sites involve at least some construction or finishing works in either soft and / or hard wood. Our local Charentais supplier sources their wood from the numerous woodlands in the Poitou-Charente and Aquitaine areas of South-West France. Projects vary from stud-walling, finishing works such as door fitting and skirting boards to major heavy-duty traditional carpentry for roof structures, covered terraces and new timber-framed houses. We can assure you that we use only the best quality timber of the style that is right for your property.

Stonework

Deux Chenes will treat your old stone property with loving care. We will bring back the stone to its original glory using a number of techniques. Stone re-pointing (pierre apparent) is a speciality of ours, using the traditional lime mortars to both make your property beautiful and to allow the walls to “breathe”. The local stone quarry is a short drive from the business premises of Deux Chenes. It is here that the traditional white cut limestone is sourced, ordered and cut to size. Even more modern properties can have a ‘facelift’ using facing stone to make the look and feel of the building more traditional. Beautiful limestone fireplaces can be bought from the quarry and installed by Deux Chenes in your home. We supply and fit log burners to your newly installed or existing fireplace.
